Home
Thomas Lindahl Robinson's work explores the effects of isolation, migration, and separation of family, portraying the human condition, while documenting cultures in transition throughout Asia, Cuba, and the United States.
His essays, narratives, and stories are three decades of documentation, which share quiet reflections, joyous celebrations, and intimate moments. It is the people who allow Thomas in their lives to photograph them, if only for the moment, to tell him their stories.
Often times, it is the silent beholder or the unobtrusive observer, who is able to respectfully break down walls in order to capture seconds of ones' lives. His secrets are patience and time while simply listening to conversations in foreign languages and observing their everyday gestures.
It is with much gratitude, honor, hard work, and a little bit of luck, Thomas is able to share the lives he documents with anyone who is willing to feel in the moment, pause to listen, and see beyond what they witness. For our greatest gifts in this world is the beauty of this planet and our wondrous spirits.
